I know there are several out there, but I needed something very specific for my site and decided to make it a bit more general and release it into the world\u2026<\/p>\n<p>This plugin uses basic caching so you don\u2019t hit the API rate limit (it\u2019s using the user.timeline API method rather than the deprecated RSS method). It will need to write a (small) xml file to your uploads folder, and to update this regularly, so make sure the directory is writeable. The cache time can be changed for busy sites or quiet sites where you want more immediate effect \u2013 but the default updates every minute (if required, it won\u2019t be active if no-one\u2019s on your site) so you should be fine.<\/p>\n<p>User controls:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Title: widget title<\/li>\n<li>Twitter user name: feed to show (must be public)<\/li>\n<li>Cache time: put this up for really busy sites, but you probably won\u2019t need to<\/li>\n<li>Show replies: show tweets which are @replies (won\u2019t remove tweets which <em>mention<\/em> someone)<\/li>\n<li>Show \u201cvia\u201d link: shows your tweet method (i.e. \u201cVia Tweetdeck\u201d) with link<\/li>\n<li>Tweets to show: number of tweets, up to 20 (with @replies on \u2013 see FAQ)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Simple Twitter widget for sidebars.
