The Goldback Exchange Rate plugin allows site admins to show the current Goldback Exchange Rate on their website using a simple shortcode. Version 2.1 now supports currency conversion, allowing site admins to select to show the current exchange rate in USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, or JPY. The gain/loss indicator also provides the gain or loss in the currency selected. Charts on the admin page will update to show rates based on the selected currency. Site admins have the option to choose the rate to display, including the Official Rate, UPMA Rate and UPMA Buyback Rate by setting the rate option in the shortcode. Version 2.1 adds a new shortcode option [goldback_block] which allows you to show multiple exchange rates in one shortcode block by setting the rate option to a comma seperated list of the exchange rates you want to show, including GB (Goldback Official Rate), UPMA (UPMA Exchange Rate), and UPMABB (UPMA Buyback Rate).
Shortcodes
Version 2.1 changes how the exchange rate selection is made by moving exchange rate selection to the shortcode option 「rate」. The following options are available for the [goldback_rate] shortcode:
*[goldback_rate rate=」GB」] – this will display the Goldback Official Exchange Rate
*[goldback_rate rate=」UPMA」] – this will display the UPMA Exchange Rate
*[goldback_rate rate=」UPMABB」] – this will display the UPMA Buyback Rate
Version 2.1 adds a new shortcode, [goldback_block] which allows you to display one, two, or all three exchange rates preceeded by the exchange rate title in a single shortcode display (see screenshots for example output). Options for this shortcode are as follows:
*[goldback_block rate=」GB」] – this will display the Goldback Official Exchange Rate only, with the title 「Goldback Exchange Rate」.
*[goldback_block rate=」GB,UPMA」] – this will display the Goldback Official Exchange Rate and the UPMA Exchange Rate, with the titles 「Goldback Exchange Rate」 and 「UPMA Exchange Rate」 displayed above each exchange rate.
*[goldback_block rate=」GB,UPMA,UPMABB」] – this will display the Goldback Official Exchange Rate, UPMA Exchange Rate, and UPMA Buyback Rate, with the titles 「Goldback Exchange Rate」, 「UPMA Exchange Rate」, and 「UPMA Buyback Rate」 displayed above each rate.
You can use any combination of exchange rate options in the rate option of [goldback_block] and order them in the order you prefere, i.e., rate=」UPMA,GB」, or rate=」UPMA,UPMABB」, or rate=」GB,UPMABB」 and so forth.
External services
This plugin connects to an API to obtain the current Goldback Exchange Rate information, which is needed to show the exchange rate information in the included shortcode. This API does not collect any information about you or your users, it only provides the updated exchange information which this plugin uses to update the Goldback Exchange Rate database table.
